Agent of Asante Kotoko coach, Kjetil Zachariassen has hit back at those calling for the head of his client following their 2019/20 CAF Champions League exit in the hands of Etoile du Sahel.
The Norwegian took over from C.K Akonnor in July and was tasked to guide the team to the group stage of the CAF Champions League, which the then coach CK Akonnor had qualified the team to.
The former Ashgold gaffer, however, failed to fulfill the set target after Kotoko suffered a 3-2 aggregate defeat to Tunisian side Etoile Sportive du Sahel over two legs of the final qualifying phase.
However, Zachariassen’s agent, Charles Kouadio has stated that it’s too early to call for the sacking of the coach because even FC Barcelona loses football matches.
“Even Barcelona loses sometimes but I think it’s too early to talk about sack because he still has another opportunity in the Confederations Cup,” Kouadio told Fox FM in an interview.
Many sports pundits and fans of the club have called for the coach to be shown the exit having failed to meet his set target after blowing away a fine opportunity to qualify the team to the group stage, having won the first leg 2-0 at home.
